LETTING GO COMMENTARY:  Once you have done The Practice of Acceptance, there will come a time
when you are ready to let go. You will come to the point when you will become able to start releasing your
expectations that others will change, or that you can change them, and start to follow soul’s urge is to
move forward into the life for which we were created.

Your heart will start to seek those who see you as you truly are and not as an image of who they want you
to be. You will start to seek those who will cultivate your best qualities, and assist you in bringing them
forth into the world. Letting go says, “It is time to move on.”  This movement towards healing is like
gardening, it requires weeding out and cultivating.

Like gardening, letting go is a process, which consistently requires us to weed out things that will strangle
growth; we will need to fertilize our garden with things that support strength and health; it will be
necessary to cultivate it with tenderness in order for the beauty to rise from the darkness and flower.

Therefore, like gardening, we will need to weed out those people and our old behaviors which are holding
us back. This doesn’t mean you have to throw out old friends and family, but rather that you accept their
thorns and learn how to place safe boundaries around them. However, one must understand in order to
cultivate healing, you will have to leave abusive relationships behind. A battered flower will never bloom.

After the weeding out process, you can start cultivating beauty in your life. You can seek like-minded
people who are on a similar path towards healing. The Universe will honor your quest and bring teachers
into your life to help you flower and grow. As you let go you will find yourself accepting your own goodness
and begin to cultivate it by becoming all that you are meant to be.

Like a sunflower seeking new heights, letting go of all the hindrances will lift you from the muck of your
past. This rising will make those thorny people in your life much easier to endure. And one day you will
have the wisdom of sunflowers that follow the Light, growing in unimaginable ways.

To further your quest to move on, I suggest you read,
The Noble Heart and Getting Unstuck, both by Pema
Chodron. Another good resource for movement is
7 Paths to God: The Ways of the Mystic by Joan
Borysenko. Also, just for the joy of moving on, please read
Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert.

...always move toward anyone who increases you and away from anyone who makes you less.

Now, without judgment review your week. This week I was able to move away from a painful situation,
which was holding me back.  Now breathe in the freedom of letting go; then breathe out the wish: May
everyone feel the freedom of moving away from pain.  Now, look at your short-falls. This week there were
times I was unable to move away from the pain of my past. Breathe in the feeling of being stuck in the
past and breathe out the wish:  May all those who get mired down by their past be released from its
suffering.  Feel free to use your own words in this practice

REST AND REVIEW
Now, without judgment review your week. This week I actually was able to find a person or a teaching that
helped move towards the vision I have for my life.  Now breathe in the support you felt. Then breathe out
the wish: May everyone feel supported in moving on to a better future. Now, look at your short-falls. This
week I felt exhausted by the search for like minded people. Breathe in the pain of not feeling supported
and breathe out the wish:  May all those who feel unsupported in their quest for healing be spared from
feeling frustrated and keep moving on.  Feel free to use your own words in this practice
ENDING PRAYER
Help me to resolve any and all unresolved issues from the past and let go of any hurt, anger, grief, fears,
and resentment so I won't take these things out on others, and so I will be free to fully live and fully love.
